Top 9 Best Air Compressor For Blowing Out Sprinklers Reviews 2021

California Air Tools 8010SPC Ultra Quiet and Oil Free

Coming in the first place is the one and only California Air Tools.

The compressor is extremely silent and performs admirably. It is easy to set up and carry to anywhere you like. Unfortunately, the cabinet cooling fan is kind of noisy. It’s not obnoxious but it is now the loudest thing around because it is always going.

I am sure they will find a quieter fan. Even, it is much superior to any other compressor I have utilized before. I cannot speculate on long-term dependability but it has performed flawlessly over the past fifteen – twenty hours of use.

Pros:

  • Super silent
  • Durable
  • Sturdy frame

Cons:

  • Cabinet fan is a bit noisy

DEWALT Air Compressor

DEWALT Air Compressor, 225-PSI Max, Hand Carry with Wheels, 4-1/2 Gallon (D55146)
  • 225 PSI max tank storage pressure provides a user with 80% more usable air than the industry leader; Tool Length : 33.5 inches
  • 5.0 SCFM at 90 PSI allows the compressor to recover quickly after its initial tank charge is exhausted

Dewalt is not so foreign to most of the customers because this brand really excels in what it is doing: machines.

With the PSI level of 90, the compressor recovers super quickly after the first tank charge is out.

Not to mention that it barely produces noises, the decibel level is only 78 dB.

Pros:

  • Strong horsepower
  • Functions quietly

Cons:

  • Might take up spaces

Rolair FC2002 2 HP Twin Stack Compressor

The FC2002 does his job excellently. Because of the brand’s reputation for consistency and customer service, I picked a Rolair.

My judgment was right because their customer service was outstanding if we do not want to say that they are efficient, competent, and courteous service. Even with several nailers running on it at the same time, there hasn’t been a single hiccup in results. The construction quality is excellent, and the word “Bull” is apt.

I have used Bull to blow out sprinklers and the result was out of my mind. It did the work without failures and interruptions.

Pros:

  • Super high capacity
  • Quiet
  • Strong structure

Cons:

  • None

BOSTITCH Air Compressor Combo Kit

  • BRAD NAILER: The SB-1850BN drives 18-gauge Brad Nails from 5/8" to 2" for a wide variety of applications

Bostitch is originally designed for construction finishing and trimming stages which can be done in both indoor and outdoor. Regardless of its initial purpose, the machine can work exceptionally well in blowing out sprinklers.

It has a tank of six gallons (22,7 litres) with a pump of ninety PSI, which enables the extension of tool run time and super fast recovery. For ease of usage, the air compressor is oil-free.

Thanks to its really functional motor, Bostitch can easily start the engine super quick in the cold weather. Another plus is that the machine is shockingly quiet with the noise level of 78 decibel.

Makita MAC210Q Quiet Series

Makita MAC210Q Quiet Series, 1 HP, 2 Gallon, Oil-Free, Electric Air Compressor
  • Quiet Series design at only 60 dB for operator and crew comfort; ideal for indoor use
  • Runs at a lower RPM (1, 750) resulting in longer motor and pump life

I bet you would love Makita from the first sight due to its beautiful retro style and fresh aqua colour. However, appearance is not the only thing by which this Makita MAC210Q actually stands out.

First thing first, I have to say that the machine is shockingly quiet. I can easily talk to my six years old granddaughter while letting Makita do her work. Super amazing to be honest.

In order to increase its efficiency and portability at working sites, the manufacturer has made it so lightweight that you can bring it anywhere you like.

One more thing is that Makita functions at lower RPM which results in a longer life of motor and pump.

I have to say that the California air compressor is very silent. And by silence, I mean it. This little total beast is a fantasy come true. When it fills up, I am always amazed. In terms of filling up, it is not negative at all. It just takes a few minutes to fill the eight gallon tank to pressure.

The machine is also simple to use. It has two wheels underneath which definitely support you in carrying around so we can see that the California air compressor is very compact and easy to move around.

Metabo HPT “THE TANK” Pancake Air Compressor

Sale
Metabo HPT "THE TANK" Pancake Air Compressor, 200 PSI, 6 Gallon (EC914S)
  • MORE PRESSURE: At 200 PSI, this compressor offers 25% greater PSI than a basic pancake compressor
  • 30% MORE AIR FLOW: 4 CFM @ 90 PSI allows for multiple large body nailers to be used on a single compressor

This compressor was purchased to replace a stolen Hitachi compressor that had been in use for seventeen years. I placed white paper under the drain after the ten minute break in time to see if there was any leakage or debris in the tank, which there was not.

One advantage of the machine is that it is super quiet and runs so smooth that I cannot even complain.

Metabo contains more pressure than any regular compressor with two hundred PSI, which makes it up to 25% greater.

Not only is the air compressor lightweight,  but it is also incredibly productive.

This cute machine has a stable and sturdy handle providing safety and durability.

Pros:

  • Lots of pressure
  • Lightweight
  • High capacity

Cons:

  • Only one colour

CRAFTSMAN Air Compressor

Sale
CRAFTSMAN Air Compressor, 6 Gallon, Pancake, Oil-Free with 13 Piece Accessory Kit (CMEC6150K)
  • 6 gallon pancake maximizes portability and stored air
  • Durable, oil free pump for long life and no maintenance

The Craftsman compressor possessing a six gallon storage has an oil-free pump to make sure that it can maintain long term operation. A plus of this machine is that it is maintenance free so you do not have to worry about expenses. With a weight of 30 pounds (13 kg), it is more than compact and portable, with a long functioning time  and quick recovery.

In less than five minutes, this machine’s pump was up and running. It took about 3-5 minutes to get up to pressure after I closed the air escape valve.

If you start the machine in merely twenty to thirty seconds, the pressure in the machine will  be high enough to pop up all of the heads and pull all of the water out. And if you do this three times, you’ll be able to get all of the water out. That explains that Craftsman works really effectively and efficiently.

Pros:

  • Great design
  • Starts up quickly
  • Strong pressure
  • Extremely lightweight

Cons:

  • None

DEWALT Pancake Air Compressor

DEWALT Pancake Air Compressor, 6 Gallon, 165 PSI (DWFP55126)
  • 165 max PSI 6.0 gallon tank (22.7 L) and 2.6 SCFM delivered at 90 PSI pump. SCFM @ 40 PSI 3.7 SCFM
  • High efficiency motor for easy start up in cold weather or extension cord application. [14 ga or larger, 50 feet. (15.2 m) or less]

Dewalt is a perfect option for the weekend fighter and the tank pressure is appropriate for do-it-yourself activities. Furthermore, the regulator is specific enough and the compressor is simple to turn off and drain.

This compressor is mainly utilized to fuel nail guns and, on special occasions, to inflate a lawn mower tyre. However, it does not mean that it cannot blow out sprinklers. It was a lot better than other usual air compressors in pushing out water in the pipes.

In terms of the noise, the machine works so quietly that you can barely hear a thing.

Pros:

  • Compact
  • Strong power

Cons:

  • There would be some hissing at the beginning

Still Not Getting Enough Information About The Best Air Compressor For Blowing Out Sprinklers? Read More Below:

  1. Winterizing the sprinkler system is important

Winterizing the home sprinkler system is a component of home upkeep that many of us overlook. Lawn irrigation systems must be properly winterized to prevent the inconvenient consequences of burst pipes and injury to valves or sprinkler heads.

Although it can seem to be less expensive to employ experts to blast out the water from your sprinkler device using compressed air, this choice may be expensive.

  1. DIY winterization and air compressor selection

Buying your own air compressor to winterize your sprinkler device yourself can be an appealing choice if you want to stop paying experts every year.

However, choosing which type, scale, and power of air compressor to buy to winterize your sprinkler system can be challenging. There are several solutions with different configurations and price points.

  1. Tips that are important when blowing out sprinklers

Compressor requirements are critical when doing a sprinkler blowout. However, learning how to handle the project is equally essential. Here are a few pointers to help you use your air compressor to blast out sprinklers successfully and securely.

  • Set up the sprinkler system

Turn off the main water line that flows through the sprinkler system to ready it for the process of blowing out. Also, if necessary, shut the additional valves on the preventer which is backflow. This would prevent compressed air from entering the backflow.

  • The connection of the sprinkler system’s air compressor

Once you’ve done planning the machine, attach the air compressor to the sprinkler line’s blowout port. If the pipe does not have an air compressor fitting, you can need to purchase an extra adaptor.

  • Bring the air compressor into engagement progressively

Until you have ensured that your air compressor is fully powered, begin steadily applying air to the sprinkler system, making sure not to surpass the necessary PSI for your sprinkler piping.

If necessary, slowly unlock the valve which is at the blowout port as well. For your own safety, remember to wear eye protection utilizing the machine.

When doing a sprinkler blowout, the compressor would most likely be engaged at various times in different zones of the facility.

This is because some of the air compressors mentioned here are insufficiently efficient to clear an entire sprinkler system at once.

  • Exclude all inactive water

When blowing out a certain area in the sprinkler system, make sure to use the air compressor for enough time to clear all of the water out of that area of the system.

You can recognize by looking at the sprinkler heads. The line is empty when only air from the pump is going out through the holes of the sprinkler. This usually takes between two and five minutes each zone.

Utilizing the techniques and compressor specs outlined above should ensure that your lawn irrigation system stays operational more years and does not lead to winter hazards such as burst pipes and broken sprinkler heads.

  1. Factors to consider when buying an air compressor for blowing out sprinklers

Since there are so many small air compressors for residential use on the market, it’s critical to realize which characteristics and dimensions are necessary to remember when comparing different compressors.

Many considerations, such as tank capacity, PSI, CFM, and ease of movement, must be considered and balanced in order to find the appropriate compressor for blowing out sprinklers.

  1. The various types of air compressors

The compressor’s primary function is to provide air to various pneumatic equipment, such as spray guns or water sprayers. In general, both instruments are graded as either oil-filled or oil-free, depending on their intended use.

  • Compressors that operate on gasoline.

A splash lubrication mechanism, which reduces friction and hence heating, is a feature of these instruments. As a result, the pump’s sealing is increased, and part wear is reduced. Lubrication is an important requirement for dealing with pneumatic equipment because it decreases tool wear and noise.

Until selecting an oil-filled compressor, keep in mind that such types are mostly used in repair and façade work, as well as in small factories and car-care centers. There is a chance of oil getting into the paint whether an airbrush or spray is used.

If you do not have knowledge on how to properly pick a compressor to paint a vehicle, remember that compressors running by oil can not be used to preserve the consistency of the paintwork products and a car. Furthermore, these instruments necessitate routine servicing. It is important to change the air filters and keep an eye on the oil level.

  • Compressors that do not use gasoline.

It is incorrect to believe that oil is not utilized completely in oil-free compressors. These systems do not combine the oil and air currents, instead splitting them into distinct canals. To put it another way, the oil should not come into contact with the supply air. When clean air without any additive agents is necessary, oil-free compressors can suffice.

Q&A About Best Air Compressor For Blowing Out Sprinklers

  1. What is the size of an appropriate air compressor for blowing out sprinklers?

A tank that can carry at least four to five gallons of air is needed to blow out a sprinkler line. The tank size you need can vary depending on your requirements. For eg, if you plan to keep your compressor in storage the majority of the time, ease of mobility would be beneficial but may be less necessary.

Nevertheless, when blowing out a sprinkler device with a small compressor, there are certain sizing requirements that must be met. The scale of an air compressor’s air tank is a crucial factor to remember.

This is due to the fact that blowing out the system of sprinklers would necessitate the use of an air compressor capable of maintaining the required pressure (50-80 PSI with 5-6 CFM) for 2-5 minutes for each region of your sprinkler line while blowing out one zone of your sprinkler lines at a time.

A compressor that can run for 2-5 minutes while retaining the necessary air pressure should suffice. As previously mentioned, this usually involves an air compressor with a tank capable of carrying at least 4-5 gallons of air.

  1. How much PSI does an air compressor require to blast out sprinklers?

To blast out a sprinkler system, an air compressor must achieve between 50 and 80 PSI, depending on the form of piping in the system.

PSI (pound-force per square inch) is a unit of measurement used to calculate the amount of pressure or tension exerted in a practical situation. In the case of air compressors, the greater the PSI, the more force the particular air compressor will eject.

It is important to provide an air compressor with a sufficiently high PSI to ensure that you can properly force all of the water out of the sprinkler lines in order to winterize the device.

Around the same time, you do not want to add too much pressure to the sprinkler system’s tubing, since this might cause them to burst or otherwise ruin the system.

  1. What number of CFM do you need in an air compressor to blow out the sprinkler system?

The majority of blowout air compressors need at least five to six CFM. If you are doing a zone-by-zone blowout, too much CFM would suffice. If you are winterizing a whole sprinkler system, you would need a compressor with at least twenty CFM.

The greater the diameter of your system’s tubing, the greater the CFM required. Some irrigation professionals use compressors with capacities of up to fifty CFM, but twenty CFM is a decent starting point.

Nevertheless, if you plan to clear the sprinkler system’s pipes one zone separately, you should use compressors with a lower CFM level – at least five to six CFM.

  1. What is the best time to blast out the sprinklers?

Blowing out the sprinklers necessitates precise scheduling. If you do it too fast, your irrigation area will lose important water that is required for winter planning. If you wait too long, the sprinkler system can be damaged, forcing you to make costly repairs. It would be very beneficial if you do it as the temperatures begin to decline. The optimal moment is when the temperature outside falls below zero degrees Fahrenheit.

  1. What happens if the sprinkler device isn’t winterized?

Over the winter, any water left outside freezes. If you fail to execute the winterization on the sprinkler system or opt not to, any residual water in it freezes, from irrigation valves and tubing to sprinkler heads. The freezing water spreads, allowing these pieces to crack or even explode, resulting in the failure of your sprinkler device.

  1. How does an air compressor connect to a sprinkler system?

Connecting an air compressor to a sprinkler device is a simple do-it-yourself project that takes only a few simple steps.

The first move is to charge your air compressor and load it with air.

  • Put on eye cover and clock the valve of the compressor.
  • Link the mounting on your sprinkler line’s blowout adaptor and the air compressor house with the appropriate fitting.
  • Examine the sprinkler control panel and switch on the farthest sprinkler region manually.
  1. What is the safest way to drain sprinkler lines?

Return to the air compressor after closing the sprinkler mechanism backflow valve. Slowly open the valve of the air compressor and keep an eye on the gauge to ensure it does not exceed 80 PSI. You can now activate the additional zones to work out progressively. Blow them out until there is no water flowing out of the sprinklers but air.

  1. When can the sprinkler fluid be drained?

When the temperatures tend to fall, this is the safest moment. It is preferable if you do it before the first deep freeze. The best moment is when the temperature outside slips below thirty-two degrees Fahrenheit (zero degree celsius).
